HR Business Partner | Siemens Pakistan Engineering Co. Ltd, Karachi

Reporting to Head of People and Culture, you will be the HR relationship manager for the employees of Siemens Pakistan and the trusted partner to the local senior leadership team. You will be bringing deep insight, an independent viewpoint and HR expertise to business issues. Consults with and influences senior leaders to take actions on emerging people related topics. Translates business requirements into human capital imperatives and utilizes the full value chain of HR to derive relevant HR solutions to meet the evolving needs of the business. Plays a key role in orchestrating and facilitating changes to organizational culture, design and structure. 

What are the responsibilities for the role?

  • Understand business and its business strategy, and be part of the respective business decision making bodies
  • Be the focal point of all HR policy matter and ensure that all polices are updated.
  • Work within teams at each relevant level to analyze and drive performance and build organizational capability
  • Manage employee relationship and be the point of contact for all HR matters.
  • Develop and communicate People Strategy, Initiatives and Programs on e.g. BU level
  • Lead or contribute to the implementation of HR programs and initiatives for assigned units in the country
  • Translate local business requirements into HR goals and actions, in line with the HR agenda
  • Drive discussions related to workforce and organization design changes and provide recommendations
  • Drive and facilitate change management initiatives and partner with the leadership team to effectively communicate business strategies, goals, values, and performance expectations
  • Enable local business to develop a diverse and robust talent pipeline
  • Guide the business on HR programs, processes, policies and service delivery based on the business environment / strategy
  • Orchestrate and connect business with experts related to workforce planning and recruitment, leadership development, employee development and training, performance management and compensation reviews, career and succession, workforce analytics and organizational effectiveness and larger restructuring initiatives within the business
  • Responsible for or contributing to HR activities in country during M&A projects and partnering with required parties
  • Answers questions that require a level of professional judgment beyond the scope of AskHR e.g. contract questions
  • Support employee relations activities by investigating and resolving issues concerning working conditions as well as people related issues such as manager/employee and colleague relationship
  • Assisting Line Managers to address specific people topics by advising on options (in context of Siemens policy and local labor law), assessing risk and acting as consultant to help managers decide on best course of action
  • Manage data and documentation handling at a local level as required
  • Implementation of local HR activities and projects in alignment with HR BP requirements
  • Educating managers and employees on best use of on-demand solutions for relevant HR related topics (e.g. AskHR, self-service applications)
  • Implementation of HR projects and initiatives

What do I need to qualify?

  • Completed Degree or National Diploma Qualification (HR or Business Management) From reputable University ot college
  • 4-8 years HR work experience in similar capacity from international Business Set-up in Pakistan
  • Good knowledge of Local Labor Laws is essential. Previous experience dealing with workers union and other governmental entities is highly important.
  • Strong experience with people and stakeholder management accountability
  • Previous working experience in Process and Policy draft.
  • Clear experience of successfully aligning the people Agenda to the wider business strategy
  • Ability to work closely with Senior Executives, effectively communicating with them on a range of commercial, strategic, and operational business issues
  • High level of intercultural sensitivity and the ability to deal confidentially and professionally with Senior managers in numerous countries 
  • Very good level of Business English is mandatory
  • Excellent IT skills
